Legend of Someone Tongue Cancer,” A Killer Thriving In My Mouth” – tongue cancer prognosis
I can’t sleep.
My mind walks with the things that are to come.
I was diagnosed a duo weeks ago with stage 3 tongue cancer. The immensity of my tongue cancer is width 2, as far as oral cancer proceeds it is pretty small.
They are announcing it a stage 3 because it has spread into one lymph gland so far. I had that gland removed and that’s when they found the carcinoma.
Mouth cancer, oral cancer, esophageal cancer and thyroid cancer are all gunmen if left rampant for to long. Due to the location they are extremely hard to operate on and the
tissue they are growing in is very delicate.( oh yea, and very necessary !)
What’s in store for me now is very difficult for me to comprehend.
I will be going 7 weeks of radiation therapy Monday-Friday, each morning.
I will get chemotherapy once a few weeks but it will be in such a low-grade dosage that I will not loose my hair.
Do to the location of my tongue cancer which is at the base of the tongue( can not be seen without bent mirrors or a remit) radioactivity is no other course of action.
Tongue cancer is a terribly invasive cancer. It depletes the muscle and tissue. It doesn’t just ripen on top of the tissue it downs the material. It is called squamous cell carcinoma.
Here is a clarity of squamous cell from http :// www.medterms.com;
Definition of Squamous cells
Squamous cadres: Flat cadres that look like fish flakes. The message “squamous” came from the Latin squama meaning” the scale of a fish or serpent .”
We have a lot of squamous cadres. They make up most of the cadres in the outer coating of the skin( the epidermis ), the movings of the respiratory and digestive pamphlets, and the linings of the hollow parts of their own bodies. We are more fish- like( or serpent-like) than we may think.( outcome)
Because of its invasive quality tongue cancer depletes important muscle mass at the back of the tongue. Through radiation therapy this is gonna be killing the material that is infected with the carcinoma, thus killing half of the muscles on the back of my tongue.
The doctors tell me that after 6-8 months I should be able to swallow unusually soft meat and liquid.
But as for ingesting until then, in a few days from now I am get a feeding tube inserted into my tummy. I will be feeing adult formula through a tube for the next 6 months.
The radiation will be killing my thyroid gland, I will have to take medicine every day for it for the rest of my life.
The radiation exposure while killing the bad tissues will also be killing a lot of good tissues.
The process will be similar to a second degree sunburn every morning five days a week for 7 weeks.
My cancer physicians tell me that I will release all the skin on the outside of my neck where the radioactivity beams are center much like a sun flame that will blister up every day with each new treatment.
Therefore starting a large fresh flesh expanse on my cervix that I will have to keep a heavy bed of lotion on.
At some pitch in the next marry weeks I will be going a subcutaneous implant for a morphine drip.
The tissues inside the throat area and back of the tongue is likely to be raw equal to many sunbathe blazes as well.
They said some people have to have a tracheotomy because their throat tissue swells to the time where they are unable no longer sigh properly.
This all sounds gruesome and I am sure that it will be extremely agonizing and closer to intolerable.
However the alternative is no medicine which will guarantee extinction within 6-10 months.
So I conceive I can take the ache, my doctors predicted they would prevent me “snowed” for as long as needed so that I can end this medicine.( my berths may get slurred !)
As this tongue cancer process develops I shall be posting almost daily with my develop, recollects, notions and medical evaluations.
I am not doing this blog for your pity.
I am substantiating this terrible excursion so that maybe some of the books will come to this understanding……I smoked cigarettes for 25 times, I chewed a little tobacco, I suck my fair share of booze, all of these are directly related to cavity cancer, tongue cancer, oral cancer,
esophageal cancer and thyroid cancer.
Maybe, really perhaps, a few people will read and follow along with me on this travel and quit smoking, chewing, imbibing too and clean up their lives so they will not have to
go through this.
The journey inaugurates ………..
