Floor of Someone Tongue Cancer,” A Killer Originating In My Mouth” – burning tongue cancer
I can’t sleep.
My mind wanders with the things that are to come.
I was diagnosed a pair weeks ago with stage 3 tongue cancer. The size of my tongue cancer is sizing 2, as far as oral cancer croaks it is pretty small.
They are announcing it a stage 3 because it has spread into one lymph gland so far. I had that gland removed and that’s when they found the carcinoma.
Mouth cancer, oral cancer, esophageal cancer and thyroid cancer are all murderers if left unchecked for to long. Due to the site they are extremely hard to operate on and the
tissue they are growing in is very delicate.( oh yea, and very necessary !)
What’s in store for me now is very difficult for me to comprehend.
I will be going 7 weeks of radiation therapy Monday-Friday, each morning.
I will get chemotherapy formerly a week but it will be in such a low dose that I will not loose my hair.
Do to the location of my tongue cancer which is at the base of the tongue( can not be seen without bent mirrors or a remit) radiation is the only course of action.
Tongue cancer is a particularly invasive cancer. It exhausts the muscle and material. It doesn’t only change on top of the material it ingests the tissue. It is announced squamous cell carcinoma.
Here is a definition of squamous cell from http :// www.medterms.com;
Definition of Squamous cells
Squamous cadres: Flat cadres that look like fish proportions. The term “squamous” came from the Latin squama meaning” the scale of a fish or serpent .”
We have a lot of squamous cadres. They make up the majority of members of the cadres in the outer seam of the skin( the epidermis ), the aisles of the respiratory and digestive lots, and the linings of the hollow parts of their own bodies. We are more fish- like( or serpent-like) than we may think.( expiration)
Because of its invasive sort tongue cancer eats important muscle mass at the back of the tongue. Through radiation therapy they will be killing the material that is infected with the carcinoma, thus killing half of the muscles on the back of my tongue.
The doctors been mentioned that after 6-8 months I should be able to swallow unusually soft nutrients and liquid.
But as for chewing until then, in a few days from now I am getting a feeding tube inserted into my belly. I will be ingesting adult formula through a tube for the next 6 months.
The radiation will be killing my thyroid gland, I will have to take medicine every day for it for the rest of my life.
The radiation exposure while killing the bad materials will also be killing a lot of good tissues.
The process will be similar to a second degree sunburn every morning five days a week for 7 weeks.
My cancer physicians tell me that I will release all the skin on the outside of my neck where the radiation beams are concentrated lots like a daylight flame that they are able to swell up every day with each new treatment.
Therefore making a large fresh flesh sphere on my cervix that I will have to keep a ponderous layer of salve on.
At some top in the next duet weeks I will be get a subcutaneous implant for a morphine drip.
The tissues inside the throat area and back of the tongue is likely to be fresh equivalent to that given to countless sunbathe shines as well.
They said some people have to have a tracheotomy because their throat tissue swells to the pitch where they are unable no longer gulp properly.
This all sounds gruesome and I am sure that it will be extremely agonizing and closer to intolerable.
However the alternative is no management which will guarantee death within 6-10 months.
So I speculate I can take the anguish, my doctors promised they are able to stop me “snowed” for as long as needed so that I can end this treatment.( my uprights may get slurred !)
As this tongue cancer process develops I shall be announcing almost daily with my advance, plans, beliefs and medical evaluations.
I am not doing this blog for your pity.
I am documenting this horrible outing so that maybe some of the readers will come to this understanding……I smoked cigarettes for 25 years, I chewed a little tobacco, I imbibe my fair share of booze, all of these are directly related to lip cancer, tongue cancer, oral cancer,
esophageal cancer and thyroid cancer.
Maybe, really perhaps, a few people will read and follow along with me on this expedition and stop smoking, chewing, drinking overly and clean up “peoples lives” so they will not have to
go through this.
The journey inaugurates ………..
