Though not normally a fan of the teen comedies, I actually enjoyed the first AMERICAN PIE movie when it came out in 1999. Yes, it was crude and vulgar, but at the core of the movie were some genuine characters that audiences could empathize with, and amidst all of the lewd humor there was heart. Fast-forward ten years and the franchise is still churning out movie after movie, all of which have progressively become devoid of any spark of interesting material. With AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS: THE BOOK OF LOVE, the lowest of the low points for the franchise has been achieved in a film that believes that combining multiple scenes of bestiality, one of which involving a horrendously designed CGI moose, a scene involving sex with a sandwich, as well as a scene with an elderly madame at a Canadian brothel who passes away during an incredibly disturbing moment in the film, passes for comedy. They do not, and AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS: THE BOOK OF LOVE is simply unwatchable.
The DVD bonus features include:

- Gag Reel (3:58)
- From the Set (19:23) A painful collection of alternate line readings
- On the Set of AMERICAN PIE PRESENTS: THE BOOK OF LOVE (8:06) A short documentary where the director, John Putch, likens his casts’ talents to that of Tom Hanks and Jerry Lewis, a claim that is far from any semblence of reality.
- Just the Tips: The Love Manual (5:50)
- American Pie Trivia
- American Pie-cons
